“Each [house] member, before he takes his seat, shall make and subscribe the following declaration, viz:

“I do believe in one God, the creator and governor of the universe, the rewarder of the good and the punisher of the wicked. And I do acknowledge the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by Divine inspiration.”

Nate Schmolze: Christian · Activist · Abolitionist

Hello, my name is Nate Schmolze, the independent candidate for State Representative serving Buckingham, Ivyland, Warminster, and Warwick/Jamison. My campaign for office is centered around the biblical message of repentance, returning to the God who was once acknowledged by our fathers, but who we have rejected in favor of our own wisdom. The increase of confusion and violence in our world today is simply the natural byproduct of our rejecting the true and the living God. My conviction is that we need to return to Him to find the life, liberty and happiness that we once had.

Of course nearly every candidate running for office does so on a message of repentance; the biblical word for “repent” simply means to “turn” or “return.” If a candidate is promising change of any sort, that change will require turning from the current way of doing things, to embrace a new (or old) way. The question to ask any candidate therefore is “What needs to change,” “How should it change,” and most importantly, “Why should it change.”

The articles on this website answer the “What,” “How,” and “Why” concerning the laws that I believe need to change in our state and nation. Like our founding fathers and the abolitionists of slavery, I am not ashamed to say that Jesus Christ is the answer to our nation’s problem; we have been foolish to reject His word and rule. My platform is built around six key areas where I believe that we the people, together with our legislators, need to repent if we are ever to experience the true freedom found in Christ. I certainly don’t hold every answer, but I know the God who does, and I trust that if we will return to Him, He will return to us and bless our land once more.

Nate Schmolze and a Little Friend

We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road, and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man.

There is nothing progressive about being pig-headed and refusing to admit a mistake. And I think if you look at the present state of the world it’s pretty plain that humanity has been making some big mistakes. We’re on the wrong road. And if that is so we must go back. Going back is the quickest way on.

The Christian Platform: REPENT

The following six articles describe key areas where I believe the state of Pennsylvania needs to repent.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. (Jhn 3:16-19)
